Role of I.T. Professionals in enterprise

What's the most important role of I.T. Professionals in enterprise? Emergency or repair shop? The most I.T. department of enterprise I've viewed, they just take the 2 roles.

I've read an article today, which descrip the right role of I.T. department. I think I get much from the article. Except cost money, I.T. department can also be the source of invent, can also save bargain for enterprise, can also increase the income of enterprise.

The most important role of I.T. Professionals is INVENT LEADER. Be faithful.
